Raw Thoughts... On Undertaker vs Triple H.

The opening of Raw with the Undertaker was very impressive, a little been there said it and just repeated what's been said in the past but the goal was to announce it was a No Hold Barred match which congratulations they have done. Now lets list these 18 other individuals who have lost to the Undertaker at past Wrestlemanias...

That's right as much as they want to praise the 18 different men Undertaker has beaten in truth he has only beaten 17 and that counting both men at Wrestlemania 19 which is fine but please stop claiming it especially while fans have both Michaels matches fresh in their mind. What else pisses me off about this storyline is the fact that neither man acknowledges there past match as Wrestlemania X-7, why? Because in the end it's not either man is failing to mention it, its the fact they are purposely trying to make it sound like a first time ever bout. I am looking forward to the match, I don't know how either man will pull it off but if they do it will be the match of the night.

My Top Ten WWE PPV's Of All Time! Part 1.

In no particular order:

1. WWE/ECW One Night Stand 2005
Lets be honest this event was a WWE event not an ECCW event. With great matches between Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka and an appearence from the Sandman you won't regret watching this.

2. WWE Wrestlemania X-7
There is so many reasns to choose this event but I will keep it three:
1. Triple H vs The Undertaker
2. Chris Beniot vs Kurt Angle
3. Steve Austin vs The Rock (there was no need for the heel turn, they could have waited to the Raw after.)

3. WWE Wrestlemania 22
The shock which left the wrestling world stunned as Cena mande HHH tap, and a solid card from top to bottom made this a great WWE card.

4. Survivor Series 2002
This had the first Elimination Chamber match an d was just an great card, Scott Steiner made his return to WWE and we saw Brock Lesnar dethroned as WWE Champion.. If I'm correct I thank all the titles changed hands that night.

5. Summerslam 2002
This was also another great card top to bottom featuring four matches that had brilliant match quality - Triple H vs Michaels, Lesnar vs Rock, Benoit vs RVD and

Raw Real Time Thoughts - Austins Back!!!!

Its 2 minutes before the start of WWE Raw, and at the moment I have high hopes for the show. With Austin, Hunter, Taker, Cena, Cole, Lawler and Del Rio in key angles tonight, whats not to look forward to........right?

Great opening promo by The Undertaker. He announced that the upcoming 'Mania match will be No - Holds - Barred and once again stated that if someone beats him at 'Mania and takes the Streak, he will 'die'. Will Hunter commit murder at 'Mania? Either way, I'm looking forward to this match even more now. In other Undertaker news, he once again came out to Ain't No Grave by Johnny Cash, which makes me one happy Randy, lol.

Randy Orton delivered one hell of a punt to David Otunga. Orton is taking out The Nexus one by one. This must be how the WWE are ending The Nexus angle, with Orton putting them all on 'the shelf'. Of course Orton had the beatdown of his life before he made a Cena style comeback and beat Otunga. The WWE might want to watch the reaction at 'Mania, as I believe CM Punk could get a large portion of the cheers. The Reason? Orton seems to be becoming the 'new' Cena.

I never believed I would be watching Christian take on Brodus Clay tonight. It was also a decent, speed vs power match. Christian got the win, which mean he gets a shot at Alberto Del Rio sometime soon. Smackdown maybe? Del Rio beat down Christian after the match. To my surprise Edge didn't come out for the save. Something Christian has done for him twice. Read into that what you will. BTW, in my opinion, Brodus Clay could become the 'new' Bam Bam Bigelow or Tazz.

Two great promo videos were shown. First was a video for Mistico, now known as Sin Cara. They are making this kid look a star. Second? Sunny was announced as the next Hall of Fame inductee. Not as 'hot' as I remember though.

During a Divas Championship Match, which Eve won, Michael Cole got on the mic and said, 'could you hurry up and finish this, no one wants to see it, I want to make my announcement'. Well, something like that anyway. Michael Cole BURIED the entire womens division. He must be taking tips from 'The King of Burials', Triple H.

AUSTIN BLEW THE ROOF OFF. NO SPOILERS HERE!!!! JUST WATCH IT!!!!!

Next week on Raw: US Championship Match - Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus (Sheamus will quit if he looses). Sheamus challenged Bryan to the match after he lost to the US Champion by countout. I actually believe Sheamus will end his losing streak next week and win the US Title, which could lead to a match between the two at WrestleMania.

CM Punk defeated R Truth by submission. Mason Ryan beat on Truth after the match.

Vicki Guerrero announced Dolph Ziggler as the newest member of the Raw roster. She also called him a former World Champion, so any lingering doubts about that topic can now be closed.
The 'wrestling' main event of Raw is Dolph Ziggler vs John Morrison. Its nice to see Morrison on Raw tonight, as he wasn't featured last week. Dolph Ziggler wins a good match. After the match the Raw GM says that Ziggler has a job, but not Vicki. To get a job on Raw, she needs to beat Trish Stratus next week.

Next week on Raw: Trish Stratus vs Vicki Guerrero (if Vicki wins, she gets a job on Raw).

Smackdown Review

Edge defeated Drew McIntyre in the opening match on Smackdown. It was a decent match, but as is the case in the WWE over the past couple of years, it could have benefited with more time. Edge picked up the win after hitting the Spear and then making McIntyre submit with a modified Sharpshooter.

Cody Rhodes cut a creepy and effective promo to help develop his fued with Rey Mysterio. He reminds me of Christian Bale in American Psycho with that facemask on (watch it, great film). Rhodes challenged Mysterio to a match at WrestleMania 27 and vowed to remove his mask at the event. The odds of this happening is extremly slim of course, but who knows, with Sin Cara (Mistico) coming in, the company might only want one masked superstar. Who would have thought this time last year that Cody Rhodes would be the one who had a high profile singles match at Mania and not Ted DiBiase.

The Corre reminded Kane that they helped him win a very important match last year (Wade Barrett and the 'Old' Nexus, helped Kane beat The Undertaker at Bragging Rights), and asked him to take out The Big Show in their upcoming match. Kane was unhappy and stormed off. During the TITANIC encounter (insert sarcastic face here), The Corre rushed the ring and handed Kane a chair, which he glady used on The Big Shows back. The Corre then swarmed Show and preceded to destroy the seven foot giant. In the chaos of the attack, Show pushed Justin Gabriel into Kane and that sent 'The Big Red Machine' into a rage. He cleared the ring of The Corre and sent them packing. In my opinion this could be the start of the long rumored program where top Smackdown stars team up to face The Corre at WrestleMania. If the rumours are true the Smackdown team will be Kane, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston and Christian, but I thing otherwise. I believe it will be a handicap match and The Corre will either face Kane and Big Show or Kane, Big Show and Kevin 'Diesel' Nash. Only time will tell, but I know which option most of my fellow fans want.

The Undertaker came out to hype his match with Triple H at WrestleMania. With a new entrance theme (Ain't No Grave by Johnny Cash), leather pants, and a new nickname - The Last Outlaw, The Undertaker seems to have gone through a slight gimmick change, which in my opinion, is a good thing (no, I'm not DDP). The Undertaker did an effective job of hyping the match and led the viewers to believe that the only way he will retire or 'die', is if his WrestleMania Streak is broken. He also gave off the opinion that if Triple H was to lose, then 'The Games' career is over. Is it true? Probably not, but it adds another layer of intrigue to an already epic match.

Christian helped Edge from getting beaten down by Alberto Del Rio and Rico Rodriguez during the WrestleMania 27 contract signing. It seems more and more likely that Christian will be added to the World Championship Match at Mania', which is something that Christian deserves. To many, including myself, he has the potential to be a HUGE main event player in the WWE, and being in a WrestleMania main event will show that maybe, just maybe, Vince is starting to believe it to. Saying that, I don't believe it would be right to put the gold on Christian at WrestleMania, because the companies long term future lies in Alberto Del Rio, and once again on Smackdown he shown the word why he is the complete package.

CHRIS JERICHO GETS PUNTED SO HARD, HE'S NOW DANCING WITH THE STARS!!!!

Chris Jericho has been confirmed for the US hit TV show, Dancing With The Stars. If he dances as good as he sings, we could be seeing Jericho back on Raw sooner than we think. In all seriousness, does Jericho have a shot at winning the hit show? I for one think he does. He seems a likable guy and his jokes seem to be cheesy enough for all the mums and grandmas to enjoy. Which by the way are where most of the viewing numbers come from...........I think?

WWE Hall Of Fame UPDATE!

Abdulla The Butcher has confirmed he will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year, this comes after "Bullet" Bob Armstrong was confirmed for the ceremony after Raw aired last night on WWE.com (due to time constraints).

Raw Thoughts.

Raw kicked off with the entrance of one Triple H who was coming out to give his reasons for wanting to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Triple H looked jacked, nothing like the flabby man we saw defeat Alberto Del Rio at the WWE Fan Appreciation show back in October. Triple H stated that he wanted to face The Undertaker because that's all he and Taker have left to do - in writing that sounds validated but the way Hunter put it across seemed to bury the entire WWE locker room, he later stated that when they meet at Wrestlemania nothing else matters. Again he was obviously trying to state how important this match was, but maybe it somehow managed to put down every other match at Wrestlemania. After he put his point across Sheamus came out, now in my opinion this was a great thing at least WWE wasn't going to ignore the situation like they seemed to do last Monday, yet for some reason Sheamus got destroyed by the jacked up Triple H. The angle didn't look good, Triple H has lost a lot of pace and seemed to move awkwardly very similar to the way he was back in 2002 when he was too jacked. Unless Triple H can get some decent time in the ring on the build up to Wrestlemania I think the Undertaker match could be a repeat of the King Of The Ring disaster in 2002.

After the break Sheamus was still trying to recover from his beat down when the General Manager said he was booked for a match and was then slated to face the returning Evan Bourne who won in about two minutes. It was good to see Bourne back, hopefully he will get a Wrestlemania match this April.

Lawler vs Michael Cole was made for Wrestlemania as long as Cole got to have a guest referee of his choosing and also have his trainer at ringside, his trainer was revealed to be Jack Swagger yet the guest referee is yet to be revealed. Swagger beat down Lawler. At this point any affiliation Swagger can have with Cole is good for him, I never thought I'd say this but Michael Cole could have more heat than anyone on the Raw roster and Swagger desperately needs heat and an elevated status at a Pay Per View.

Punk versus Orton was also made for Mania, the weeks leading up to the event will see Orton face off against the other members of Nexus and if he wins the individual matches said Nexus member will be banned from ringside. He faced Michael McGillicutty and won the bout afterwards he punted him much to the chagrin of CM Punk. Now something I found funny after the match was Orton ran into the fans and away from Nexus who were charging down the ramp however the camera angle WWE used showed Punk running down yet failed to get the rest of the Nexus members in the shot so it made Orton look like he was running from Punk.

The Rock replied to Cena's rap last week and seemed to completely undermine anything Cena can say back by claiming he went into movies to help other wrestlers, which is complete crap but still what are the kids to do, right? He then rapped a bit and called Cena a bitch, how very PG. One could be led to believe that after Linda's failed campaign they have slightly (and I mean slightly) loosened the the choke hold at least for this angle, and Punks busted nose the other week.

The main event pitted Cena against Riley in a Cage match if Cena wins Riley gets fired as being Miz's right hand man and if Riley wins Cena must proclaim Miz as AWESOME!... Cena won. What I did find entertaining was Miz tweeting pictures of Cena as the match took place, that was rather cool.

The Rock posted the following picture earlier stating that he'll respond to Cena tonight.. Will he be on Raw? I think he will make a video package but you never know he could be there in person.

Chris Jericho: Breaking The Code DVD Review

If you buy this DVD then you'll find out that Chris Jericho is one of the most talented wrestlers on the planet but you, you already know that. Its not often that I actually hand over cash to buy a wrestling DVD these days, not because the prices are too high or the staleness of the product, though that does effect why I don't purchase Supercards any more. The truth is there just isn't many good DVDs coming out, do I really want to see Hulk Hogan and his lost footage? Or the John Cena experience which is basically a long add for his Make A Wish foundation work. I believe that the price (within reason) will not affect the amount sales because at the end of the day quality sells and with this addition to the WWE library that's exactly what you'll get.

To the people who purchased Jericho's first book, there wont be a lot of new information to sink your teeth into and there is definitely no bombshells that will change the perception of a wrestler who has had great matches in all the main wrestling “countries”. What you do get is solid and very entertaining documentary on one of the last of a dying breed. Chris Jericho alongside Chris Benoit and the rest of the Radicals are some of the last wrestlers that actually toured Mexico and Japan and learnt how to wrestle several different styles and can basically have a good match with anyone on the current WWE or TNA rosters. The extras on the DVD include around 18 matches which highlights his upstart as opponents and team mates with the very talented Lance Storm through his WCW Cruiserweight run up until his recent Wrestlemania 26 bout with Edge, every match is a joy to watch and really highlights how Jericho has come along as a wrestler.

Talking solely about the documentary there are quite a few talking heads who have interesting things to say about the Lion Heart and its interesting to see how Jericho feels now towards his WCW run and what he has achieved. The documentary does trail off and talk quite a bit about Jericho's metal band Fozzy which could be quite annoying for your average wrestling fan, but its small price to pay for a must have DVD like this one.

Extras: Includes some of Jericho's best promos including the incredible Man Of A 1004 holds segment and his WWE début where he has a verbal exchange with The Rock.

Overall this DVD is very good all round and I would find it hard for anyone to try and claim this isn't worth the purchase, you will get a great documentary and some of the best matches you have seen especially if you're weaned on today's product, which Jericho openly admits has dropped due to the fact everyone is trained to be mirror images of each other in the ring.

Week In Review: Triple H and Undertaker Return!

This week has saw some very interesting and foolish things from both TNA and WWE, first topic on the agenda is Monday Night Raw and the return of the Undertaker, Triple H and a very non PG John Cena.

Monday night saw John Cena reply to the tongue in cheek promo by The Rock last week, which managed to bury Cena, The Miz and anyone who has attempted to impress with the microphone in the last seven years since we last saw The Rock. Yet that was last week this is this week. My thoughts on the promo are only going to be positive, after last week Cena needed to reply and if he kept to his cookie cutter image it would have made him look weak compared to the giant The Rock is/was. So the return of the rapper side of Cena really helped make him look Bad-Ass as well as give him the aura of an Attitude Era superstar which will be much needed if he has to compete with The Rock on the micro-phone again. My only problem with this was that it made me want to see more of it and that just isn't going to happen while the company stays PG, yet you have to remember back in 1996/97 time WCW was PG as well and they never seemed childish. By the way there is no chance in hell this back and forth between The Rock and John Cena will build up into a match, The Rock has even said he will never wrestle again.

Next up is the fact that Triple H vs The Undertaker has been officially made for Wrestlemania 27. Its not Michaels/Taker 3 but in a way it could be. This is going to be the third part of a trilogy, put it this way Triple H will want vengeance for the death of Michaels in ring career and also want to prove for himself that he can beat the streak. We can pretty much accept that Michaels will have some involvement in the match whether it will be as a referee or outside enforcer. The problem I have is that there is unfinished business for 'Taker and Triple H. Undertaker has the Nexus well Wade Barret anyway, and also Kane. I want to see Kane/Taker as much as I want to see Michael Cole have an interview segment (that actually sounds like fun). However I can forgive the lack of continuous on the Undertaker side of things as Triple H kick started this thing before The Undertaker could say anything. My big problem is that are we supposed to completely forget about the Sheamus feud? The man who has been credited to ending Hunters career came out the segment after in his stupid King costume which makes him look like some sort of Conan reject and never acknowledged anything to do with HHH nor did any of the commentators.

The state of the burial of Sheamus is unforgivable, the fact that this man has built himself up into a decent in ring competitor and now is stuck with this terrible gimmick well and truly a sorry state of affairs. In Sheamus they had a man who was pretty much accepted as a main event level wrestler even though he had beaten anyone of note clean. The only good news is as of Monday Night he seems to have a rivalry going with Daniel Brian.

3.3.11: That's right folks Undertaker is coming to iMPACT!!!! No wait hes not? So TNA ripped off an Undertaker promo to hype Sting? Oh because people thought it was Sting when the 22/2/11 promos started! I get it now TNA just wanted to fuck over the idiots who thought it was Sting back then. Wait a minute? They were mocking WWE? So they mocked WWE for creating a promo that caught peoples attention and created such a buzz on the Internet that it got them thousands maybe millions of more viewers. Despite TNA's efforts to publicly embarrass itself time and time again at least they did manage to sign Sting, maybe they won't blow whatever angle they have planned for him by I don't know giving him the title on his first match back.

Mistico has officially signed a WWE contract to massive hype from WWE itself. Originally it seemed like Mistico would report to FCW shortly, but from the hype WWE are giving the man I can't see how they won't put him straight onto one of the rosters right after Wrestlemania. I have to admit I doubt Mistico now Sin Cara would have handled being treated like everyone else if he went down to FCW. The mexican superstar (literally) has a reputation for being a diva and also has a history with Alberto Del Rio (neither man like each other).

So that pretty much wraps things up for this weekends review few quick notes on Smackdown. Dusty Rhodes turned heel to help Cody against Mysterio and that's about it. Ring Of Honor had its 9th Anniversary Show last night, you have a full review coming soon.

WRESTLEMANIA 27 UPDATE!!

The Undertaker vs Triple H has been officailly made for Wrestlemania 27 in the Georgia Dome, as yet the match doesn't have any stipulations but you can expect that Hall Of Fame bound Shawn Michaels will feature in the bout in some way.

Would of been nice, right?
